4.  Information We Share

We do not share, sell, trade, or license your Personal Information to any unrelated third parties for their marketing use. However, we may share Personal Information with our service providers, including digital marketing companies, who help us in the delivery of our products and services to you. Cookies.  A “cookie” is a small piece of information that our Site can send to your browser, which can then be stored on your computer’s hard drive so we can recognize you upon your return to our Site. Pixel Tags. We may use “pixel tags,” also known as “web beacons,” which are small graphic files that allow us to monitor the use of the Website. A pixel tag is a type of technology placed on a website or within the body of an email for the purpose of tracking activity on websites, or when emails are opened or accessed, and is often used in combination with cookies. A pixel tag can collect information such as the IP address of the computer that downloaded the page on which the tag appears; the URL of the page on which the pixel tag appears; the time the page containing the pixel tag was viewed; the type of browser that fetched the pixel tag; and the identification number of any cookie on the computer previously placed by that server.

Transferring Personal Data From the EU to the US.  Although Valco Melton is headquartered in the United States, it has subsidiaries located in European Union countries. Personal Information we collect from you may be transferred to and processed in the United States. Valco Melton participates in the EU-US and Swiss-US Privacy Shield Framework regarding the collection, use, and retention of personal information from European Union member countries and Switzerland. EU-US Privacy Shield has received a finding of adequacy by the European Commission. We have certified with the Department of Commerce that we adhere to the Privacy Shield Principles. Your Personal Information is stored by Valco Melton on its servers, and on the servers of third-party cloud-based database management services it engages.  For a current list of services that receive Personal Information for processing or storage on behalf of Valco Melton, please send a request to Valco Melton maintains servers in the United States and in the EU. Valco Melton retains Personal Information for the duration of the customer’s business relationship with Valco Melton, for the purposes indicated in this Policy, or for such other period as may be permitted or required by law, whichever is longest.  

9.   California, USA Residents

Under California’s “Shine the Light” law, California residents who provide personal information in obtaining products or services for personal, family, or household use are entitled to request and obtain from us once a calendar year information about the customer information we shared, if any, with other businesses for their own direct marketing uses. If applicable, this information would include the categories of customer information and the names and addresses of those businesses with which we shared customer information for the immediately prior calendar year (e.g. requests made in 2018 will receive information regarding 2017 sharing activities).
